[原创］I love Harry Potter(speech)
It’s not the first time and I must say that this will not be the last time for me to tell you that Harry Potter is my favourate book.J Today, the little wizard will right be my topic.
Though I’m a most faithful Harry Potter fan at present, I was not at all interested in it when it was first around in China. For I was holding a bias then, a bias that still exits and may exit just among you------- Harry Potter is a children’s book. It was not until the first film of Harry ---- Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone that I worked up my courage to have a glimpse of the book. Immediately, I was enchanted by the magic in the book and could not help but read all the books in one sit. I was attracted; I was grabbed.
In the course of reading, my former bias gradually waned and eventually clean vanished. Children’s book, you might call it, reveals a world worth loving to me.
A hero though Harry is, he lives just as normally as any one of us do. Well, except that he is a wizard. He never finishes his assignment until the last minute; he has his favourate teacher and the most hated; he loves sports---- Quiditch; and he used to secretly fancy a beautiful girl. In a word, his happiness, his sorrows, his worries, they are all real and remind me of my own.
Courage and friendship are the two main themes of the novel. The courage Harry and his friends showed when they were in the face of deadly danger is what I admire greatly. They are willing to fight against even the darkest power just in order that the innocent can live on. Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hagwarts, once said “ In our life, we always have to choose between what is right and what is easy.” I think Harry and his friends set us a very good example as to which to choose. The firm friendship among Harry, Ron and Hermirone always moves me. They are all the time ready to give themselves to danger when there’s a need to protect their friends. Loyal as they are, they may even sacrifice their own benefit for the sake of friendship. That’s what true friendship is---- to share, to bear, to help and to support.
The story of Harry Potter is set in a wizarding society, which of course does not exist in reality. Such fancy offers another approach for me to relax. Merely imagine: a little wave of the wand, and magic is done. It’s fabulous, isn’t it?
Children’s book, you may still want to call it that way. True, Harry Potter is no match for the master pieces in literature history. Yet, it offers us fancy, pleasure and a means of entertainment. So when you want to relax a bit by reading something much more fantastic, Harry Potter is highly recommended by me.
You won’t regret.
Today is the very day for the fourth movie of Harry Potter series------ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to be shown in the cinemas in China. I can hardly wait to see it. Will any one of you come and join me? Enjoy Harry and you are sure to find a new and fancinating world.
